Prismatic Inks has an active development program, searching the world for new technologies which may be incorporated into UV-Cured print processes.
In particular, considerable progress has been made in recent years in the development of Ultra-low odour UV cured inks and coatings with extremely low levels of volatiles and residuals after UV curing. Although FDA approvals for direct food contact are unlikely, these systems are now suitable for most types of indirect food contact packaging.
The revolution in computers in the last 20 years has seen the development of increasingly economical and powerful colour-control systems for printers. Prismatic Inks is able to supply such systems which may be used, in conjunction with a suitable spectrophotometer, to control colour variation during a print run, to match supplied standards using a computer calculated formula and even to control ink dispensing systems for automatic ink batching.
